Well if this is suppose to be "The mother of all TD games." You would think you'd be able to customize the modes more. maybe just one new game mode called "Custom Game"
Inside you could have several options...
starting money
initial income
initial lives
time between rounds
preset waves or player sent waves or random player sent waves

I think there would be lots of problems:
For example the balance of the game is destroyed.
Moreover the sense of the game / tactics and everthing else would be changed. (in a bad way)
