32X32- GLASSWAYS

The first map I have made, so probably this map might be too long, or the image might be to gaudy or bright for people, just tell if it is :) and Ill try my best to fix it. Its 425 units (squares) long with 3 big loops that travel twice around before going out to the next. There are multiple waiting points near the bottom left. The creeps dont wait long at all in each spot (I only over lapped it once for each)

ok. First of all thx for taking the effort of making a map. We appreciate that. I personally know, that it takes some effort to make a good map and so thx for taking this effort. Of course there are always some ways to improve a map. Cause no map is perfect at the beginning.

Here are some problems and improvements about your map:

First of all the Main Problem (cause it's the mainpoint of a map) is the path. Altough there is a big variety of defence spots all over the path i think that this path would be a bit boring to play, cause it's simply too monotonous and too long. Here we reach the next problem. The path is simply to long. If you play this map, it will simply never end.

So the first improvement (actually it's not really an improvement but a remake) is too remake the path. Shorten it, make the path clear and upload the map again.

Ok unfortunately i am not finished yet :)

Now we got to talk about the design and the background. If you take a look at some of the most popular maps, all of them have a clear background and a path that stands out of it. Your map unfortunately has none of both.
What do i mean with that. Your background is really confusing at the buttom of it, i can't even tell where the squares. The background is simply too colourfull.

So improvement: Make a clearer background. Often you don't even need big painting/design skills to do that. If you take a look at blueworld, there's no complex design(simply light and dark blue squares)

next problem: The path doesn't stand out of the background enough.

improvement: A good way to prevent this, is too make a border at the side of the path.

Conclusion: new/ shorter path and a clearer/ less complex background

Thank you Pezinator for the tips! I much appreciate it. But I should try more time on making a map :roll:. Sorry about it beging like this I just didnt know alot of things on making a map. Mainly I just needed to know what was wrong.(although I pretty much knew the map would look nasty and confusing lol). BUT I will try again and this time ill put a whole lot more effort in to it.

ok i am looking forward to see your new map. If you want i would have some spare paths you can make a nice design for them. Otherways i'd be happy to see your own path

im making a path now, Im using GIMP to draw it and Ive learnd how to make contrasting borders now :D. After im done with this ill be glad to try your paths!

I think the paths need to not have the textures on them (plain) and no coloring other than the path.

A bit too long? xP

I agree it is quite long hehe, then again Sphere is huge and look how amazing that map is

Design is not ok.
Path is not ok.

The design is the keyproblem.
