Monochrome (16x16)

Hi!

My first map. =)

Entering in the lower left corner, exiting in the upper right, with a circular movement through the 3 main routes, one after other, starting with the smallest one.

- 16x16
- 123 path segments
- no blocked spaces
- nothing special
- changed graphics (removed white lines)

I love the path but seriously don't like the design. :D
With all these squares and rectangles it's confusing.
Maybe just a grid and a gradient from dark blue to blue or dark green to green...

The idea is okay, but it started to be a "monochrome" map (black and white or grayscale). =D

So many different opinions... =D

No please not!!! We don't have any grey/ silver map. The colours is fine! You see everything. blue red white and green is most of the time not good, since that are the colours the creeps have and moreover it's nothing new.

OK I am going to explain my opinion:

The thing with the colours should already be done. So there's the path and the design left.

The design is simply nice. I like. Can't really explain why. But since i have to objektiv:

Yes the design is complex and normally i'd say keeping it simple is best thing to do, but all the small and different squares together look good. They remind of minesweeper.

The path: The map is too short for making 3 paths out of it. I think, it's quite impossible to defend this map and even if some pros might be able to defend it. I don't think the path is good. Just imagine you play a 4v4 and everybody sends 4 novas I'd like to see how you try to defend them. Think that's not possible without 3 splashs.

edit: You gotta delete this white lines. They are for nothing and only disturbe others.

Hmm, I don't think I got this short path thing... =/ There are 3 loops (small, mid, large - in order, every creep goes through every path), I don't think it's short. =/
But I'm not sure I got it the right way. =D

I will remove the white lines then... =(

Oh I see. Ok I got this wrong. was my fault. Then the path isn't that bad anymore still not my favourite but better. You can also leave the lines, but then you have to make them in regular distances so that they don't seem that random.

But these lines are intended to be random. =D They are not grid or anyting, they are just for design. =P
The grid can be followed by the grey squares, because they are aligned.

But why random lines? As you say they are RANDOM so tell me why you want to keep them? They seem a bit disturbing maybe some people could think that there are stops or something like this.

They are random, to make the map a bit less symmetric. =P They are some kind of connections (walkways) between the grey stuff (buildings / building tops) on the sides of the path... =D

I think I'll get them off. =D

I looked over the whole map once more and I've found noting to change.
So I think, this map is -ready to be validated-. ^^

I liked the "crosswalks" but thought those were stops like in the NYcity map until I read the description, Since they were not stops probably best to remove them. I think stops would slow down the map too much since it is a longer one to begin with.
I especially like the look in the multi scree, althought the lack of a demarcation will prove to be slighty confusing.

it's long enough anyway so we definitely don't need slows. But the only problem i have now, is that the map seems a bit colourless. I like the silver, but you might want to try to get some other colours in there

It's monochrome. I designed it to be grayscale. =)

Besides you've wrote earlier, the colours are fine. O_o

Hmm that's bad for me. :D but actually i meant that grey is fine and that you shouldn't make the map blue or something like that. But I am not sure if only grey is enough.

This is my design. =P You are not satisfied with it. Okay. =P But it's hard to judge anything by one person's opinion.

Well that's true. Before my last post i was speaking obejektiv. The last one is my personal opinion.

Concerning the map that means: there's nothing more to improve then the contrast. Now people have to decide if they like it or not.
