Extreme Funmaps

The map Strolling (viewtopic.php?f=34&t=1811&p=24574) is very hard so survive, but some players like the map.
Strolling is still in the testing area where is no pointawarding and without skillawarding the map could be a part of CreepTD?

The idea is to have some "hard to survive"-maps in comon, without skill- and only with experiencepointsawarding.

What? Hard funmaps without skillpoints, only xp.
Why? This would make CreepTD more interesting and give a longer range to make players happy.
How? Creating one extra district and flag the map as special maps.
Cons? CreepTD could be to confusing for new players.
Fix the cons? Only let players with >100xp the maps play.

What do you think about the suggestion, please post your opinion and maybe a constructive review.

Re: Extreme Funmaps

Re: Extreme Funmaps

So the question arises:
What/who dictates what an extreme funmap will be?

Is it predetermined by the opinions of the admin?
Is it a certain number of rounds on a high score list? (average 12?)
Is it a matter of public opinion?
Will it be an algorithm (X number of splits, and average of path squares/map space, an average of distance between all path segments?

With the extra flag being set for the map, could the extra flag allow for a different income scale? such as +5 or 10%
Or a higher starting income?

Could this be set on a per map basis as a map attribute? or have a game creator slide bar start option like there was in the survivor games a while back?

Will this mean that more maps that were dismissed as "too hard" initially, now be testable?

Re: Extreme Funmaps

Thank you all for the feedback.

A extreme funmap is a map where we have a high randomfactor.
Flipper wrote:Is it predetermined by the opinions of the admin?

The community has an perceivable opinion wich influence the decision of the team, but in the end the team decides how the maps change theire category.
Flipper wrote:Is it a certain number of rounds on a high score list? (average 12?)

This can be an criterion, but we have atm no authentic outcome.
Flipper wrote:Is it a matter of public opinion?

If the community notice some maps and starts a change request, the team will answer and/or change the category.
Flipper wrote:Will it be an algorithm (X number of splits, and average of path squares/map space, an average of distance between all path segments?

Atm there is no conception how the algorithm should work, because it is in the end a subjektive decision.

This will be the cutom mode: viewtopic.php?f=20&t=1741

If I understand this right, you cannot change the pointawarding in the creating time.

Yes this could be a possible result.
