Ok, just thought a single core cpu could cause this based on some kind of race condition (a thread stealing all cpu power) or similar. Are you sure about this happening on both computers? Furthermore, if it happens on both a single and a dual core computer at your home, maybe there's something special (not necessarily wrong) with your internet connection. Do you use a router to access the internet? If so: What type, model etc.?

I too am having this problem. about 1 in 1.5 games this occurs. (roughly) usually fairly consecutively, but then there's periods where it does not occur for several games. It is a pain to get stuck like this, as not being able to send means we cant generate a higher income :(.

Sound:From start up to the issue begins, the sound is fine, but when the bug occurs the sound cuts out, once that happens you know your boned. almost always, when I build a turret after the issue started, I can hear that turret shooting, but not the ones built previously. Also, incoming creeps:, Just like towers, creeps sent up to the point when the bug starts are soundless, but creeps that are larger then ones previously sent (new creeps for that game) have sound upon entering the board. (usually) Sound usually comes back before I can send again by a few seconds to several.

Chat: Usually, but not always, when the bug glitches, chat is also disabled along with sending creeps. This is unfortunate when playing co-op :(. Like creeps, chat usually always comes back before being able to send creeps.

Visual: When the bug starts, any number of the opponents screens will have a red box around it like a creep just got trough. Everyone could have this box (including me) or no one, or 1 of us etc. Usually the game is a little laggy during this bug issue, but it dosn't always lag during.
When a game starts I usually lag a bit, that's normal and it clears up, I'm not 100% but usually, when a lags at the beginning, I am more likely to get this issue.
Most of my info is the Same as GURAQTINVU, including comp, and ip. We live in the same city, (could this be an isolated issue somehow? as in our particular internet provider isnt listed properly? ).

I've just added some debug output to the latest client version. Please reload the client (so that it downloads again) and when starting a game, type "/debug" (without the quotes) to the game's chat box so that it says "Debugging enabled".

If the bug occurs, please submit the log. If this does not work it may be required to leave the game before submitting.

no i do not use a router and its not wireless, im using it through a Ethernet port. But i know that Ghoststalker uses it through wifi.

I would like to thank you agian for looking into this as much as u have dcode. But as ghoststalker stated it could be just a isolated area as we are both in the same city.

also would you like us to report the bug everytime this happens? or just a few? just dont want u to be swamped with bug reports

ps: small little favor, do you think you could add a canadian flag? just want to represent my country :D

I need one log with enabled /debug where this happened :)

I'll add a canadian flag asap, too.

FYI: I reviewed the sound system code for the recent version because this seemed to be connected in some way. Would be great if this'd fix it :)

i also had a thought at what might be causing it. could it be that there is to much info for the game to handle so it stops things for the game?

for example: if im building a lot of towers and sending creeps and getting creeps it "overloads" something and stops the sending, i think that would make sense due to the fact sound cuts out, as well as keyboard (sometimes). i don't know its just a thought.

i have been playing the game at a "slower" pase not sending so much at once and building enough towers to keep me alive and it seems to not happen (so far)

Just for the info, i'm having also little problem, it seems that what dcode done, have worked partially, the sound of the game for me have improved, i now have the building sound, the upgrade sound, and the first turret shooting sound, but i noticed that if i let the game launched a too long time (~1 day), if i join a game, i begin to have some issues, (stuck tower and big lag),
i also noticed that i've activated the /debug mode and that my log was very big, so when i relaunch the game, the game go smoothly again, maybe your computer can't handle the log try to relaunch the game and deactivate the log maybe it can help,
also check you available memory when you"re playing and you encounter this bug.

That's absolutely right, the /debug command is just for debugging purposes and may cause the game to stop running fluently. This is why I made it a command and didn't activate it by default. The log output generated by the /debug command will become very large for huge amounts of creeps etc. The log isn't actually cleared at some point currently, so restarting the game once a day might be required. When most bugs are fixed, I'll sequentially reduce the overall log output and finally add automatic clearing now and then.

It's great that the latest update fixed at least some of the sound issues so I know where to look at in this case. I think I'll try to change the sound system to a queue based implementation with a fixed overall concurrency. If I am guessing right, this should at least fix the remaining sound issues.

Hey, just thought I'd get on here and post some results for ya.. been playing with no sound for a bit now, probably 7-10 games, and the glitch where i can not send does indeed still occur, though it did seem to be working at the beginning, the bug killed me again and again. also, there is another bug, I'm sure you've herd about it, At any point in the game, be it the beginning or end, a bug occurs where it will allow me to click on the creep, (or use keyboard) and send em, but they never either get sent, or add to my income, though it does take my $. WHen this occurs, it last for the remainder of the game. All Game! the game is over as soon as this happens for obvious reasons. This one is worse the the not being able to send bug i think because other people that i have been playing with also have been getting this bug, from different locations around the globe. Well, there's your heads up, enjoy.
