No sound in Ubuntu 12.10

Hi!
Sound is Ok until I "select/press" an unit, then it totaly stops to work and I cant get it to work again.

Iv tried to reinstall java, but it didnt help...

Any ideas?

I am having a similar issue on Debain testing -- sparky Linux version 4..

What happens to me, is once the game starts the sound cuts..

I have some ideas,

I think it's something to do with the codex I'm using.... i have the same problem with VLC where if i skip forward the sounds cuts, but not all the time...

I have just turned the sound off, however i would like to get it working..


I do have a far amount of experience with Linux, so if there are any ideas I'd be happy to try it and post results.

so while fiddling, i have found that installing the ATI non-free helps the sound last longer, however the screens now lag up at create game, start.
