If you equalize quality with design, than there is a way to imrove it. The path should be fine, but you have to work a bit on the background. It is possible to have a really small and not complex backgroundm a good example for this is speedvector. But the way it is now, it doesn't really look good.

The path has nothing special(no clocks, stops, undergrounds)

i'd like it better if there were a line on the border of the map so i can instantly see the border of my map.

How's this? Added green borders that divide the players. Changed path reason being that it other one looks dull

I like the first version much more.
Colors seems good and Path-Difficult is ok, i think.
