CreepTD 1.0 beta 6: All new sound effects

Hello everyone,

with beta 6, there is a completely new and unique set of sound effects for CreepTD. Maybe you feel that some of them are not perfect yet, so please tell me and if you like, you might also create other ones.

I used this sound generator to create the sounds: http://www.superflashbros.net/as3sfxr/

Please post your impressions and if you like to have something changed, try it yourself or tell us, what you'd expect.

FYI: I don't think the new sounds are perfect. Some of them are too crazy. However, I like the following:
- Building
- Tower upgrade
- Missile silo launch/explode
- Ion Cannon zap
- Creep kill explodes
- Incoming sonar
- Game over
- Start counter

Unsure:
- EMP Emitter - sounds should make clear that this type of tower sends a pulse
- Cannon tower - it's currently a shotgun-like sound

Sounds requiring improvements:
- Turret (level 1-4 shots) - maybe some appropriate "turret" sounds
- Tesla Coil (level 1-4 shots) - maybe some tesla/voltage sounds

Die alten sounds mochte ich eigetlich ganz gerne :P

Die find ich aber (bis auf den grünen speed) auch ganz gut. Der muss auf jeden Fall geändert werden, oder ich bau den nicht mehr xD
Den sound vom Ulti find ich richtig gut!! Ich finde der weiße sollte den gleichen sound haben :D
Die slowtower sounds kann man finde ich aber auch noch optimieren...

Maybe i can help you out with some sounds because i have a professional Programm called Reason, which is for producing music, but i think producing simple sounds wont be too hard :)
However the Programm only gives you .wav , .wave , .aif and .aiff files .
I dont know if you can use them, if not maybe there is a programm to convert the files !

Can you tell me how i can upload the wav files here ? It says its not allowed...
I tried some things, and as far as i can tell the biggest problem is, that i have to much opportunities and no ideas for the sound... Could someone give me some ideas how it should sound like ?

Make a zip file of them, then the upload should work.

I added some ideas to my first post.

hi,

i did a complete soundset for creepsmash, years ago with the same generator. i had old school sound FX for old school gfx in mind. contex never integrated them, so i never heard them ingame. they need adjustments for sure.

Thanks! There are some really cool sounds in there, I think I'll create a mix of the best sounds from both sets!

Impressions:
- I think the splash* sounds would be a good match for the tesla coil in reversed order
- Same for the basic* sounds but for the turret tower
- The slow* sounds are very similar to the ion sounds from my package, I will compare them and choose the best ones
- I like the rocket launch sounds. There is currently just one but I will replace it with the four of your package

as said before, i dont care as long as im not involved in the sound design.

take those old sounds as a gift, they were unused long enough. :)

if you need some help in sound design, i can help you if help is wanted.

I already implemented the sounds from your package as mentioned above. Will be live with the next client update :)

i spend a lot of time creating and tuning them, 2 years ago.
if its possible i would die to hear them all together in a next build. maybe with an switch option between the sounds of your choice and my set?

my splash sound seems not to fit anymore, since its a big cannon now. but the other should work and should also used the way they are named, with higher sounds for tier 1 to the deeper from tier 4.

for me it seems wrong to have stronger tower upgrades playing higher sounds, like in the current build.

I am currently thinking about adding the possibility of custom graphics and sound packages useable in the download version (only). I think this would be a great addition besides creating new maps...and everyone would be free to use whatever graphics and sounds he likes the most :)

Ich finde aktuell ist der SPeed Tower zu laut. Da gehen fast alle anderen Geräusche total unter. Vorallem ein weißer Speed ist ganz schön aufdringlich. Ansonsten find ich die Sounds definitiv besser als die alten.
