User Interface (UI) suggestions

I miss the old UI because it had the (almost) fullsize map image there, now its really hard to see the map i have chosen, i like to watch the map before i play so i can plan ahead a little bit, and refresh my memory what kind of map it was. Sometimes i just choose a map just to see what kind of map it is and if i dont like it i change map, but atm its impossible.

The player startpositions could be done with a small image (like in old version it had) or by hovering mouse over the map image: it would change the view to the (currently in use) rotated version.

I took some time and this is what i came up with, hope you like it:

Compared to current version:

Basically i made chat box smaller since it felt too big, and rearranged some confusing stuff. And i moved the flag before the rank or player, not after it, felt confusing to me for some reason (current image doesnt have it, but on player list you can see). Also i removed the rank rectangles... those things that have stripes in them, i dont know what they are for when there is already the rank icon (with stars in it). that took a lot of unnecessary space! Also the player list is a lot thinner now, that looks better IMO, didnt feel like a player list when it was so wide, felt more like chat box.

I also removed the useless game name box, since nobody has ever used it. i therefore suggest the game name would automatically become the host player name!

The chat box can be easily lowered in height to get more space for players if we allow more than 4 players in the future.

The map image could be made smaller in my version, so it matches to the width of the input boxes below it.

Map preview images are 100x100 in size. That's why it is how it is.

Yeah, but old version shows 250x250 map image in the map selection page when you have chosen a map, but when you create the game it shows it small maybe 50x50 ? which i find bad since people cant see the map very well. and the beta version doesnt even allow the game creator to see the map in more than 100x100 size. thats pretty much what i wanted to fix here, now everyone could see it nicely! aint that great? 8-)

@Ximon: Of course, but this looks...you know.

@tracker: The old version contained every single map image. The new version does not contain any and uses thumbnails.

Why is it a problem to download the mapimage? it takes perhaps 0.1 seconds to download any map from: http://www.creeptd.com/game?rot=0&mapimg=quadcore

Also, whats wrong with the look? the crap i left is because i moved around rectangles from original image...

I, for example, am sometimes limited to a modem connection. It would take longer to load the image than everyone becomes ready and the game starts. As you can see, I don't like to change it. It's perfect like it is, the best compromise.

Ok, how about if you hover (or click) your mouse over the rotated image, you see the full size image? Also, cant you make it so it doesnt halt the game while its downloading something?
