2v2 Coop - Income Sharing

Hi,

In creepTD 1.1, teammates now share income in coop games - this means that all players on the same team will have the same income. This change affects both 2v2 coop and survivor coop.

I can understand why you made this change, but I do miss the 1 attacker/1 defender playstyle of 2v2 coop before this update was released.

I suggest that we have an option in 2v2 coop to decide whether or not to share income. For example, in the game creation screen, we could have something like this:

    • Share 50% of income with teammate: This is the same as how it is currently.
    • Share 25% of income with teammate: If you send a Raider, you'll get +$270 income while your teammate gets +$90.
    • Don't share income: This is the same as how it was before creepTD 1.1.

I am not saying the new 2v2 coop is worse than the old system, but it does have flaws, so I'd like it if we were given an option between the two.

The reason is that in the old system, you could have 1 person being the attacker and 1 being the defender. Now the attacker has the same role, but the defender has to defend while at the same time attacking and coordinating his attacks with the attacker.

I know some people really prefer the old system, so I'd appreciate it if you take a look at this. Thanks.

Why do you think that the 1 person offence 1 person defence method doesn't work anymore? It's the same as before. You simply need to defend cheaper.

No, it works perfectly fine. It's just that now it's especially taxing on the defender because he has to communicate with the attacker to set up combos, when before the change, the defender can solely focus on defence without needing to contribute much to offense.

In my opinion it's much more "Coop" now than it was before. The old system basically required one skilled defender + X while the new system requires both players to communicate and therefore win the game as a team, together. That's why I changed it and I already saw lots of people playing the new mode with defender/offender roles like before :)

Just played a game like this before and i worked perfectly fine^^. But as dcode said. You need to communicate more and I have to say that I really like this. (at least as long as your partner talks with you :D )

Ah, I see the problem now. I'm frequently paired with someone who isn't willing to coordinate in detail, which is more crippling now than it was previously. Then again, I simply need to find better teammates.

The main reason I suggested this was for nostalgia's sake, similar to how bounty-based survivor was brought back. 2v2 coop now feels a litle too similar to the playstyle 2v2 on separate maps, but maybe that's just me.

Either way, I'll give it a few more shots and see how it goes.

i have the same opinion like x14!

I loved the good old 2on2 coop.

as an defender, i was up to keep my income high but loose lifes low. i needed to save money some time to build towers, sometimes i decided to let my offender help me out. but then, i knew that now the other offender has more inc then mine so i will get stronger waves... but i also have probably more inc then the other.

that was just nice, not to know how much ure mate have exactly (of course u could ask) and minewhile try to get the vs-defender not to earn inc so the offender needs help him out.

now its quite boring:
round 10 -> 4 demeter
round 15 -> 4 rays
round 16 -> ...

ahh i donno if u understand what i wanna say, the 2on2 coop is just not the same anymore. and i played it 10 times now (new version) because i try to get used to like it! DONT LIKE IT! BEFORE IT WAS MY FAVOURITE MOD! I LIKED IT MORE THEN AVA!!

I aggree with penq. Each player should have his own income. This makes the game more interesting.

1.1 RC12 gives this a shot and has reset the income sharing. In this release, every player will have its own income. Let me know what you think!
